Larry Thurman Pretlow II (born June 19, 1989 in Washington, D.C., United States), is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer and politician. He is more commonly known by his stage name LaPret. He was a founding-member of the rap group PROFOUND INTENT and the Hip-Hop duo Keen Starz . He first earned recognition in 2012 with the release of his solo single Problem In Harlem. He was dubbed the Rapper-Politician by the Washington City Paper. In April 2015 he finally released his debut solo EP Another Day: Love's Imperfections on his LaPret World Music imprint. He credits 90's music and love as the foundation of his artistry. He was elected to ASCAP Writer and Publisher memberships in 2007. LaPret has devoted himself to work in public service to improve life for all children, young men of color, families, and women.
